After yesterday’s post about being prepared for the Net-a-Porter sale with my longstanding wishlist, I decided that wishlists were a subject worth expounding on. I find them extremely integral to snagging great deals online.
{Wishlist Pro-Tips}
- If your favorite websites have wishlists – use them. I regularly update wishlists on Anthropologie, Shopbop, and Net-a-Porter.
- When a sale happens you can go directly to your wishlist to see if what you want is on sale, rather than having to comb through the entire body of markdowns.
- If something that used to be out of stock is back in stock, you’ll be able to find out and get a second chance at scoring that item. This also happens if someone else happens to return the item you want.
- Keep items in your wishlist for a couple of weeks after you buy them. That way if the price goes down within 2 weeks you can usually get a price adjustment.
- Websites like Have to Have and Hukkster help you keep track of specific items you like online (for those websites that don’t offer a built-in wishlist), and they’ll let you know when the price drops.
Do you have any tips for getting the most of out your wishlists? Please share, in the comments!
{Win This Ring}
I didn’t mention it on the blog, but a few weeks ago I attended a pre-launch event for
Bevel Trunk Shows. The concept is pretty cool: Bevel partners with, and provides a platform for, small scale jewelry designers that don’t have the capacity to mass produce. All designs featured are exclusive to Bevel and produced in limited quantity. What
we get (we = people who like jewelry) is access to the next big thing before they’re big. In fact, at the pre-launch event I learned that a couple of the Bevel designers had already been picked up by Bergdorf Goodman and Barney’s! In order to celebrate the launch, Bevel is giving away this ring by Nettie Kent.
HOW TO ENTER: Sign up on Bevel (
www.beveltrunkshows.com) with the access code “NYC150”, and comment on this post. That’s it! You have seven days to enter – ending on December 4th.
MORE ABOUT BEVEL: Bevel Trunk Shows bring the trunk show concept to the online platform, providing users with a unique first look at new collections from independent designers. Each designer creates a sample collection consisting of 10 exclusive designs and 200 pieces to be shown on Bevel for 7 days. Bevel takes orders throughout the online shopping event, designers hand make the product, ship to Bevel, and Bevel ships directly to the customer. All Bevel products arrive within 4 weeks from the sale with free shipping and returns for 30 days post-delivery.
PS – so sorry for the wonky formatting – this is what happens when I don’t update to the latest version of WordPress…
