{What Emily Wore} Bachelorette Week 6

“I hope [the producers] do a good job of portraying who I am, and not an arrogant ass.” – ousted Bachelor Ryan

Well played, producers. Well played. Let’s start at the beginning of the date. How awkward when Emily came to pick Ryan up and he did that spiel about the pearls and oysters? He came off as ridiculous to the viewer, the rest of the guys, and surely Emily as well. She rightly decided not to give him the rose, although she still struggled through what she had to say. It shows how much of a jerk Ryan is that he tried to make her think she was doing something wrong. He made it about her missing out on him, when it should be the other way around. Watching him try to undermine her resolve felt like watching a fox prey on a lamb. I cheered when she finally, firmly, stated, “I can’t give you the rose tonight.”

Other guys: Why is John (Wolf?!) still around? In the end he and Doug got the last laugh over Ryan; it was Ryan’s words of caution that Emily would be “missing out” that inspired her to keep both guys around.

All in all, Emily made a lot of good decisions with the guys, and she had great wardrobe choices. Two strong themes emerged this episode: scarves and sequins. Every single outfit seemed to have one or the other.

Scarves

1. Graphic print scarf (similar)
2. Paisley pashmina (similar)
3. Animal print scarf (similar)

 Sequins!

1. Sequin top (similar)
2. Sequin gown – jk. Who actually wears those? Try sparkly accessories instead – like sequined sandals for a night out.

My favorite Emily outfit of the evening was the white, sequin gown (with an open back!) worn during the final rose ceremony. Emily’s stylists sure do know how to pull out tasteful, trendy, showstoppers. Questions: Which of Emily’s outfits was your favorite? What did you think of this episode? And what do you think about next week’s teaser? Arie- say it ain’t so!
