Success: You Wear It Well

I frequently speak of Discarded to Divine on my blog, but it’s not the only fashion-minded non-profit I support. Dress for Success is another organization that reuses old clothing to improve the lives of women. In case you’re not familiar with what they do, they provide suits and other business wear for women who are turning their lives around. They got the interview or the job – but don’t have the wardrobe or the resources to look presentable. DFS doesn’t stop there, they also provide career counseling, training, and provide resources to help these women grow in their new careers.  I wanted to volunteer with them as a stylist for the women, but unfortunately I had to be available M-F, 9-5; so instead I support them in other ways, such as donating clothing and writing about their parties. Like their 6th Annual Fashion Celebration.

Gilt City, a DFS supporter, is offering a deal on VIP tickets. Instead of paying $1650, for $300 you get all of the following:

• Admission for two to the Dress For Success San Francisco annual fundraiser on July 14, 2011
• Two front row seats at the fashion show
• Access to the VIP gift lounge
• VIP gift bag
• Complimentary limited edition Inspiration Scarf by Echo Designs (received upon arrival at the event on July 14)
• Chance to enter raffle of $500 shopping spree to Trina Turk Boutique
• Chance to enter raffle of two-night stay at any San Francisco Kimpton Hotel based on availability (some restrictions may apply)
• Chance to enter raffle of 3 months of Eco-Friendly Dry Cleaning/ Wash & Fold from Laundry Locker 24/7 Dry Cleaners
• Discount of 25% off a $100 or more purchase at the Banana Republic Flagship Store in Union Square

I unfortunately will be en route to North Carolina on July 14th, so please someone else take advantage of this amazing opportunity in my stead! You have until Wednesday at 3pm to make this happen. And… go!
