Giveaway: The Body Shop

Happy Monday! A few significant things happened over the weekend:

  • San Francisco had our first 12 hour stretch without rain for at least 10 days.
  • The Fashionista Lab got a new logo (coming soon on the blog, see it now on the Facebook page).
  • The Body Shop opened a new store in San Jose.

A new Body Shop is exciting news, indeed. In order to celebrate, they want to give one very lucky Fashionista Lab reader $100 worth of Body Shop products! And you don’t even have to live in San Jose!

Let me tell you why I’m excited about this: I don’t have many trade secrets, but I do have a few. Here’s one: I swear by the Body Shop’s body butter. A devoted fan since 2007, body butter is my secret weapon when I go out on a chilly night. Do you ever have those evenings where you want to rock bare legs, but need some kind of buffer against the elements? Here’s what you do: slather your legs in body butter and you’re good to go. I don’t know how it works, but it does. Possibly in the same way that a layer of pantyhose can protect against a jellyfish sting, an invisible layer of body butter is enough to warm your legs. I can’t guarantee this will work if you’re facing a real winter, but for the San Francisco spring/summer/fall (all the same thing), it’s my go-to solution for leaving tights behind. And I can feel good about it because Body Shop products are eco-friendly, and the body butters use Community Trade butters and oils. #Winning!

    I’ve loved their Lip Scuff since I was a teenager. It’s the only effective product I’ve found to exfoliate your lips and it moisturizes too.

    Yeay!

    I LOVE the Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion. It’s so light and still slightly hydrating. I use it as an acne serum. It seems to work mostly! My husband swears by the Face Protector and other men’s skincare lines.

    LOVE body butter (love etc, satsuma, all the scents really). Beyond body products, the oil burners and home fragrance oils are the best! They get any area smelling amazing so easily and quickly.

    Funny part – I use it to wash my face. It’s the only product in the world that i’ve found has kept my skin clear of blemishes! Because my skin is slightly oily, it also dries it out just enough 🙂
