I have a bad habit of packing for the weather I want; not the weather I’ll probably have. Totally enamored with my new shoes, I insisted on bringing them home with me to North Carolina, even though there was a chance of snow. It only snows occasionally in NC, and it rarely sticks. So what a surprise when my dad reported to me that they got a record 8 inches of snow! I wore the shoes anyway.

You might recognize them as the Jeffrey Campbell animal print moccasins I’ve been dying to have for so long. They originally came in leopard, and that’s what I thought I was getting… until I opened the box and saw giraffe. Surprise! This was the cause of the confusion:
Silly me, I went by the picture and not the words. But I’m actually happy with them because I feel like while leopard is always in, giraffe is unexpected.
