Rachel Roy has a Facebook pop-up shop

Quelle surprise! Going through email this morning I found this:

I had no idea Rachel Roy and Jessica Stam were doing a collaboration, and I was really unclear about Nine West’s involvement, but I was curious so naturally I clicked through:

Are there only 4 items in the collection, or only 4 in this pop-up shop? Unclear. I loved the purse so I got some close-ups:

How does one buy a bag on Facebook? There are Facebook credits that people use in virtual gaming, but they don’t extend to brick & mortar purchases. I clicked through to see:

Aha! The purchase is not made on Facebook; once you want to buy the item you’re taken to Rachel Roy’s website. (I did not buy the bag.) Technically the sale isn’t on Facebook either, but run by a third-party application called Fluid, which provides a social shopping experience online. I’m still not sure about Nine West’s involvement with this, but I think it’s smart business for them to send emails not just about their shoes, but about cool stuff in the fashion world as well.

As both a Facebook user and an avid online shopper I had an excellent user experience and hope to see more brands offer this experience to their fans.

*Update – to experience the Rachel Roy + Jessica Stam pop-up collaboration, “like” the Rachel Roy Facebook page.
