Outfit: To the Stable

These vintage Frye boots are one of my favorite items in my closet, just for how I acquired them. I was over at a dear friend’s family home (in Chapel Hill, NC}, talking with her about shoes. Her mom walks in and mentions that back in the 70s she was in love with a pair of Frye boots. She was in college and pretty broke, but she saved her money and finally bought them. She wore them for years, but once she got pregnant her feet got wider and for years the boots just sat in her closet. But that very day I was at my friend’s house, her mom was planning to finally take the boots to Goodwill. Instead, she gave them to me!

Great ! In France, everybody likes the vintage fashion and return in the years 70/80, me also. But especially the French aristocrats who carry the nickname of “bobo” (bohemian middle-class) in french (Bourgeois Bohème). It is just a story of financial mean and effectively, to get back old clothes at mom or grandma or in barters, it is what there is of better.

    Sorry for my poor english
