Fruit (Print) is Always in Season

I recently heard a woman say she wasn’t sure about buying a piece of clothing because she didn’t know how long fruit print would be a trend. I wanted to shake my fists and shout ‘fruit (print) is always in season!’

That’s dramatic… but I’m not wrong. Fruit prints are practically florals, right? When have florals ever been out of season? I’m talking fashion seasons, not nature seasons, of course. There’s always room to express the colors and textures of the natural world–and that’s what fruit prints (and florals) do so well.

On that note – I wore my fruit print kimono jumpsuit this weekend! Last seen aboard a Norwegian Cruise Liner and at a Cynthia Nixon fundraiser, I wore it to a friend’s birthday picnic on Governor’s Island and then to hang with another friend in Battery Park. Both beautiful places I hope to explore more of this summer. Maybe wearing more fruit!

Jumpsuit is from ASOS, earrings by Elizabeth Cole and sunglasses by Quay. I’d like to note that these photos weren’t even edited because the light was THAT GOOD. One last thought to leave you with: when you type the word “fruit” enough times it starts looking really funny!

I’d love to hear your thoughts: what print is always in season for YOU?
