I don’t remember how much I’ve blogged about this, but I totally need a new summer wardrobe. I need a summer wardrobe, period. Living in San Francisco I never needed clothing for temperatures above 75 degrees. One of my challenges is not wanting to spend a lot of money right now, but also not feeling great about “fast fashion”. I recently saw the documentary The True Cost, and it made me way more conscious of what it means when clothes are cheap. When I was working full time it was easier to avoid fast fashion on principle, but now that I’m back in school there’s more of a ‘moment of truth’, so to speak. And even though I have less money for clothes these days, I still just can’t get down with buying a $10 dress.
Secondhand shopping is always an option of course (I do love the Real Real), but being picky about the prints and colors I to wear, it takes more time and effort to find things I like. Either way, I’m sure it’ll work out. I’m pretty talented at sniffing out student discounts – and of course, buying things on sale – like the dress above!
