Black & Orange – But NOT in a Halloween-y Way

This is what happens when you get dressed after 4pm, ie, once it’s dark outside. It was also raining and I reeaallly wanted to wear my pretty A.P.C. boots, but I haven’t weather protected them yet. Still. So I wore my fun rain boots instead. But as you can see, I’m not wearing any shoes in the photo. Why? Taking photos against a white wall was a challenge… I ended up having to put a stepladder in the shot so the camera could have something to focus on. Once I set the self timer I had to run into the shot to remove the stepladder, securely prop it against something else, then run back into the frame and stand still for the remaining 2 seconds. I started doing all of that in the boots, then realized it was probably very unpleasant for my downstairs neighbors!

I wore this about 3 weeks ago to see Alvin Ailey with a dear friend. Alvin Ailey is a yearly tradition of mine and I love sharing it with my friends. A draft of this blog post sat on my computer for a while, in part due to 10 days in San Francisco. But also because I updated WordPress and they apparently changed the photo editor to become supremely minuscule and hard to find, and it was incredibly frustrating, and it took me forever to figure out how to do what I needed to do. But I figured it out finally, yay!

I’m still working on my apartment, so the next time I get dressed after dark and have to take photos inside… hopefully this blank white wall will look a lot different!
