{Red Carpet Review} 2014 Golden Globes

So, I didn’t actually get to watch the Golden Globes. Since moving I don’t have access to a TV anymore, and I wasn’t organized enough to go to a friend’s place. I did catch Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s opening monologue (and the bit with her son Randy) online, and it was fabulous. And of course, I devoured red carpet images too! Given the things I love – color! texture! volume! (and sometimes not volume), here are my favorites in ROYGB(I)V-ish order.

71st Annual Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals

Taylor Swift in Carolina Herrera. I would really love a midi/maxi skirt version of this – a black waistband with a beautiful pink skirt.

71st Annual Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals Drew Barrymore in Monique Lhuillier. She just looks so sweet and happy here, and the dress seems to match her mood. How could you not love this? Another dress I would love to have in midi/maxi skirt form.

71st Annual Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals

Amy Adams in Valentino. Simple, but fun. And something I 100% want to wear.

71st Annual Golden Globe Awards - ArrivalsLupita Nyong’o in Ralph Lauren. Bold color, classic silhouette. Excellent combination.

71st Annual Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals

Zooey Deschanel in Oscar de la Renta. This is basically my uniform – crop top and maxi skirt!

71st Annual Golden Globe Awards - ArrivalsRashida Jones in Fausto Puglisi. This is just a super fun dress. Makes me want to go to Palm Springs!

71st Annual Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals Caitlin FitzGerald in Emilia Wickstead. I love how she combined this playful blue dress with playful, rugby-striped heels.

71st Annual Golden Globe Awards - ArrivalsAllison Williams in McQueen. This would make a great mini-dress.

71st Annual Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals Jessica Chastain in Givenchy. This dress is so beautiful, so dark and textural. Reminds me of Black Swan, in a good way.

71st Annual Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals Amy Poehler in Stella McCartney. She looks hot, confident, and happy.

71st Annual Golden Globe Awards - ArrivalsLizzy Caplan (don’t know who made the dress). I’m sure this ended up on some worst-dress lists as well, but I love the gilded braid accents. This would make a great mini-dress or going out top!
