First I would just like to say, SAN FRANCISCO FINALLY HAS A TARGET. Yup. Until a week ago (October 10th) San Francisco had no Target. So I’m more excited for this Neiman Marcus/CFDA/Target collaboration than I have been for any previous collabs. And after seeing the items that will go on sale, I’m downright estatic. Each of the designers (except Judith Leiber) created between 2-4 items, which means there will be A LOT to choose from. I checked out all 52 items (such hard work) and distilled the top 12 best buys. And by “best buys” I mean the things I want the most.
HOME
Band of Outsiders cookie cutters, $29.99. I like to bake and I’m always up for new cooking gadgets.
Diane Von Furstenberg yoga mat, $49.99. It’s hard to explain, but this just feels like a no-brainer to me. Why not inject some beauty into my yoga routine?
Joseph Altuzarra glasses, $49.99; shaker, $49.99. I almost didn’t put this one in because paying separately for glasses and shaker make it seem like less of a good deal. But I love the design. And all the better for people who maybe just want the glasses or the shaker, but not both.
Joseph Altuzarra cocktail tray, $79,99. I probably wouldn’t use this for cocktails (I’m not that fancy), but it seems like a good decorative object to have around.
Rag & Bone flask, $29.99. I like this flask way better than the one I have, plus I lost my funnel. So clearly, I need a new flask.
ACCESSORIES
Brian Atwood gloves, $49.99. 1, these are major; 2, I have a few cropped jackets that could really benefit from opera-length gloves.
Derek Lam slippers, $49.99. Because your feet should be fabulous too, even when you’re just padding around the house. Especially good for those who’d like to match their leopard print snuggies.
Marc Jacobs scarf, $69.99. Just because I have never regretted buying a scarf. And I like the black with just an accent of gray on the edges.
Oscar de la Renta tote, $59.99. This bag has the potential to look way more expensive than $60. And if it does it will be the BEST BUY of the entire bunch.
CLOTHING
Prabal Gurung cape, $79.99. Capes are fun, and this one is particularly festive. If you live in a place that gets serious winter you probably won’t be able to wear this before it’s no longer season-appropriate. But if that’s NOT you, this will be a great way to switch it up for holiday parties, and the like.
Rag & Bone men’s sweater, $69.99. I’m glad there’s a few things for the dudes in here, but I plan on snagging this in a size small.
Tracy Reese blouse, $79.99. Another great piece for holiday parties – and one that can be worn in any climate.
There were a couple of categories I totally ignored, like kids and pets because I have neither a child nor a pet; and types of items, such as storage, stationery, and transportation (bicycle, skateboard). Especially when it comes to wheels I think it’s better to buy a product that you know is sturdy and effective, rather than something whose price reflects its design more than quality. I thought I would be more into the clothes but this time around the accessories and home goods just captured more of my attention. I would love to know what your top picks are – or, if this is a collaboration you plan to sit out. Let me know in the comments!
