Last night’s Bachelorette was the realest episode I’ve ever seen in this franchise. When Emily’s mom broke right out and asked Jef “how does your family feel about the concept of being on the show and finding “the girl”?” I knew we were off to a good start. Because that’s the elephant in the room: can people legitimately fall in love while filming a reality show? I’ve always thought of these shows as an elaborate way to just meet someone. Then you do, and you date for a while and see if you’re compatible, except you’re engaged while you do that. And if you find that you’re not a good match, as many normal couples do, then you have to break off an engagement instead of just breaking up. But Emily and Jef seem… different. What do you think? Do you think they’ll actually manage to get married? I hope they do.
And with that, let’s look at one final recap of what Emily wore. One thing that Emily did a lot of this episode was a white top (or dress) with a statement necklace.
Get the look with this one-shouldered white dress or a white midi-dress, with a gold-tone statement necklace or a leather pendant (with studs too!).
Emily also wore some cute sundresses, of course, but I’d like to point out her masterful use of chambray. I’m fairly new to the concept myself (although it feels like forever that it’s been a trend), and I really like what she did in the opening scene. It is a look absolutely anybody can pull off.
A chambray top pretty much goes with everything, but a bright, festive skirt is a great way to liven it up!
I don’t know about you, but this seemed to be the best ever season of the Bachelorette. At the end I truly felt happy and relieved for Emily. I do hope everything works out!
