DIY Nail Art, Round 2: Thanksgiving

As mentioned in a previous post, my first DIY nail art project went so well I decided to do something Thanksgiving themed. Unfortunately, this one was far less successful. I’m going to show you the photos first so you can guess what I was going for. Then I’ll show you the inspiration so you can see how big of a fail this was.

So, what do you think I was going for? My best guess might be a “fall-themed plaid”, although most plaids come in fall colors. A couple of fingers had the “Franken-Minnie” thing going on – but at least they’re fall colors! Other than that maybe “kindergardener gets into a bottle of nail polish in the fall”? Here’s what I was going for:

Clearly not the same thing. There are two things I learned from this. One: It’s a good idea to look at the inspiration photo before you start. I totally forgot to make the lines diagonal. Two: having the right tools makes a difference. I didn’t have small brushes in the right colors, so that made it difficult to achieve the desired effect.

None of it matters though, because tomorrow is Thanksgiving! I wish you all a happy and healthy Thanksgiving Day, and a Black Friday full of great sales and leftover pie. I’ll see you back here in a couple of days 🙂

Aw at least you tried! You can use bobby pins if you don’t have nail art pens 🙂 I opted for fall leaves which are easy brush trokes

Thanks for the tip! I’ll try using bobby pins next time.
