Outfit: Rue Magazine’s Birthday Bash

A few weeks ago I had a scrumptious evening celebrating Rue Magazine‘s first year. While there were a great deal of things I enjoyed about the party, my favorite part may have been having such a vast and wonderfully appointed space as my playground. Upon entering H.D. Buttercup, furniture store turned party headquarters, I immediately gravitated towards a gigantic horse.

After my friend Natalie arrived she saw a pair of portraits on the wall and immediately connected the dots.

That was the best lighting we had all night, but that didn’t stop Natalie and I from having a blast getting silly with a photo shoot. So many great props! We had to take advantage. And it helped that there was an old man behind Natalie providing vigorous photo direction. If nothing else, he made us laugh.

Fun as this shoot was, when indoors it’s hard to capture the best part of this jacket – the movement it has in the wind. Luckily a couple of new friends (Erin and Emily) were on hand to capture the scene with their iPhones.

Outfit: Jacket – Sass & Bide, top – Vince via Jeremy’s; leggings – Hue, booties – vintage via Sui Generis Illa, necklace – Kenneth Jay Lane, belt – Banana Republic.
