My appreciation of J. Crew waxes and wanes, but I always love their sweaters.
Merino Stripe Zip Cardigan I already have a merino zip sweater from J. Crew. But you know what I don’t have? A STRIPED merino zip sweater.
During college in Chicago I had three lambswool sweaters and a few merino ones that were winter staples. Living in foggy San Francisco sweaters are a layering must; but anywhere they are a convenient way to make up up the difference on a chilly night, or in a climate-cooled building.
Shawl-Collar Cardigan Stylish AND cozy!
My ongoing obsession with J. Crew sweaters is like always having a soft spot in your heart for your first love. Poring over the J. Crew catalog as a teenager was my first real foray (not counting Delia’s) into aspirational dressing.
Pier-Stripe Sweatshirt The fanciest sweatshirt I might ever own.
Once I could actually buy J. Crew on my own I found a new reason to love it: the textiles. I totally geek out over textiles. I loved the jersey, angora, heavy lambswool, light merino, linen, etc. Several years ago I bought a jacket simply because I was curious about the effect of a cotton-linen blend.
Merino-Linen Cardigan Merino + linen?! Mind = blown.
It might as well be a law of the universe that no matter whether I’m bored by J. Crew or thrilled with it, I will always love their sweaters, and love them the most.
