*I know it’s been a while since we discussed Project Runway – and the final episode is tomorrow – so I’m doing speed recaps of the past 5 episodes.*
Episode 12: New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg introduces the challenge to the designers, which is to use the city as inspiration. It’s the last challenge to see who gets to design for fashion week so there’s a lot of orchestrated talk about why the designers think they should go, and how they can almost taste it.
Andy designs a dress inspired by Central Park, but it comes out looking like he visited a bondage den.
April doesn’t make it to fashion week.
I can see echos of Gretchen’s hip, urban girl vibe that was so clear in the beginning, but here it’s totally lost.
I’m not convinced that Michael C. knows what he’s doing. The judges loved this, but I think he just gets lucky.
Perfectly Mondo, but certainly not his most exciting creation.
Were you surprised that Michael C. made it this far? Do you think the right people are getting the chance to show at fashion week?
