I’m sitting in the airport right now, getting ready to fly to Dublin, actually, and in a few days 3 dear friends and I will be off to Morocco! It’s going to be just like this:
Just kidding.
Well, hopefully there will be a camel ride. And harem pants. And a turban. When these trends started showing up on the runways a few seasons ago I was highly skeptical. But now that I’m traveling to Morocco, that’s all I want to wear! Finding the right pieces became an important part of preparing for the trip. That, and language prep as well.
Instead of an all-out turban (Norma Kamali), I opted for a more fun, low-key turband from Gold Saturn. I can’t wait to rock it! I tried on harem pants at the Gap, but they just made me look really tubby. No thanks! And last but not least, I started reviewing the Arabic I learned in college, but then remembered that because Arabic is so different from country to country, I just need to get a whole new book on Moroccan Arabic. Ok, my flight to Dublin is boarding. Off I go!
Update (from my layover): the good people at Ron Herman in Los Angeles were instrumental in providing the turband. They graciously helped me out with a last-minute request to overnight it to San Francisco.
