Not shopping before an impending vacation is always a challenge! I’ve had a trip to NYC on the horizon for a couple of months and now that I’m less than 2 weeks away it’s no easier resisting things that have caught my eye. Some items I’ve been more successful ignoring than others.
(Clockwise from top left)
Antik Batik tunic, the Outnet. I fell in love with this top, and wanted to buy it as soon as my shopping cleanse was over, but I decided that I could probably find something along these lines in NYC.
Victorian lace back cardigan, ShopRuche. At $34.99 this is a good deal, and given that it’s hot and humid in NYC right now, I’m not sure if I’d find something similar. I’ve been watching it online, and now my size is the only size left. I’m still undecided as to whether I will buy this or not.
McQ belted dress from the Outnet. This wasn’t a huge temptation. I liked it, but quickly realized that I have a red dress and black shoes which can approximate the look.
Tranquil Flow tunic, Anthropologie. Aside from my recent Ambiance excursion, there’s a number of boutiques I haven’t let myself visit because I don’t know that I have the self control: The Painted Bird, Bianca Starr, Wasteland… And the huge Anthropologie pre-memorial day sale. I had to devise a mantra to convince myself not to go.
McQ geometric cardigan, the Outnet. I was actually in the process of buying this when it became sold out.
McQ field jacket, the Outnet. I did succumb to one pre-vacation temptation – this McQ jacket from the Outnet. It definitely touched a nerve (in the good way). I’m normally against hipster plaid, but I love the idea of plaid in a, er, lumberjack context. In my world, it’s only appropriate to wear plaid when your clothing is actually functional.
