Guilt-free Shopping

Sometimes all the planets align and you get the perfect shopping experience. Last weekend I took a brief break from celebrating birthdays (4 birthday parties in 2 days!) and popped in at the Ambiance in Noe Valley to see if I couldn’t find a little something for myself. I’ll be in NYC in a couple of weeks so I wasn’t looking to drop a lot of money, but there was definitely a shopping itch that needed to be scratched. Ambiance never lets me down, and I came away with these two fun and edgy pieces:

High-sheen black mini-skirt by Breathless, originally $39. This is a great party skirt that I’d be afraid to wear in SF because it’s so thin I know I would get cold, but it will be perfect for the hot summer nights I’m about to experience on the East Coast. The exposed zipper makes it totally on trend, and there are pockets!

Open-toe booties by Qupid, originally $45. The perfect party shoes for SF – you don’t have to commit to fully exposing your feet in case it’s cold, and you’re not totally covering them up either. As an added bonus, the 3-inch wedge is surprisingly comfortable.

In total I should have paid $84 pre-tax for these two pieces, but thanks to markdowns and flyer month, I got everything for under $35! The skirt was marked down to $5 ($5!), the shoes to $35, then I got an extra 20% off sale items. That’s why I love Ambiance. I can always find a good deal, and I never feel guilty about shopping there.
