Everything old is new again

Vintage is undeniably hot. But what about cool, timeless pieces that aren’t old enough to be vintage yet? Enter: “pre-owned” luxury items. Today Haute Look is selling pre-owned luxury watches from brands such as Cartier, Piaget, and Baume and Mercier.

Of course, Haute Look is no stranger to selling second-hand luxury items. From time to time they offer items from Decades Two, the famed vintage shop in Los Angeles, which incidentally, they are today. Check out these amazing pieces from Yves Saint Laurent.

I adore the trousers and those two dresses. I usually go for prints and things that are very colorful, but I love the volume of these pieces. The 70s are my spirit decade, so these things speak to me!

I would like my work of art done in the 80´s 90¨s and now, would be as interesting as the dresses and watches, and my works of art will be hanging on some homes even 100 years after I passed away.

That´s the reason why art is so interesting and valuable, lives longer than the idea and the hand that made it. Describes a time, a political situation, an economy, tells you just hanging on your walls about a time that will be like any other.

Some say that something need 20 years to be up to date again. A little before that’s kitsh (don’t know if that means something in english, it does in french anyway) and as been assimilated, after that’s still too knew to be revisited again, because too many people can remember it. Call it snobism if you like…
Now it’s the 2010’s. Minus 20 years. So The 90’s is the used-hype now (good concept, isn’t it?).

Fashion… You like the 70’s. For sure that is a great decade. The 80’s were so poor. Not enough things to discover? Too much C..??aine in the place? We here call them “les années fric” that means “the money years”. Too much to show, not enough to say… Digestion…

The 90’s:::::: (the early ones): Is that going to be grunge like nirvana, or dance music like 2unlimited? New wave has ended now. Heil the 90’s!

Wow, with the latest Cartier vs. HauteLook lawsuit I’m curious if HauteLook stated that the watches were indeed second hand back in April when this sale occurred?

    Cartier Sues HauteLook

Cartier is apparently alleging that HauteLook claims to never sell secondhand items, but your article suggests that they did. Interesting :).

I find it disingenuous that they claim not to sell second hand and proceed to do exactly that. The fine print informing of the pre-owned condition of the items is tiny, tiny…
