I’m so excited to have a fabulous weekend in L.A. with a dear friend from college, but it looks like I’ll be missing a fantastic weekend in the Bay Area. From Marin to Oakland to San Francisco there are fun and social fashion events happening, each one featuring local, gently used, or vintage selections. So eco! Here’s the rundown:
FRIDAY:
Trunk & Swap, 5-9 pm
Recycle, shop, save, donate AND meet new friends! Trunk & Swap is part trunk show, part fashion swap and social networking event with a dating experiment. According to the website people should bring up to 20 items to exchange. Each person will get one ticket per five items, then one ticket allows that person one item from another attendee. There will also be local fashion vendors, live art and a DJ. Sponsored by Fashionable Singles, presented by San Francisco Fashion and Merchants Alliance, Inc.
*Etiquette Lounge – 1108 Market Street, San Francisco
The Stylist Boutique at Bianca Starr Opening Party, 6-9 pm
The opening night of Bianca Starr’s monthly rotating consignment rack, the Stylist Boutique is “[her] take on an art show.” Local fashion mavens select vintage items from their personal collections to feature at Bianca Starr. The opening party will include a DJ and champagne.

SATURDAY:
The Marin Store Sample Sale, 9 am – 4 pm
If you’re north of the Bay check out this sale for items by local designers, “Northern California delicacies” and free mini-facials. RSVP to the Facebook event so you remember to check this out on Saturday. Of course, you’ll also have to remember to check Facebook.

Oakland Museum of California White Elephant Sale, 10 am – 4 pm
The White Elephant Sale is the largest rummage sale in Northern California, and benefits the Oakland Museum of California. The sale encompasses 17 “departments” which include boutique items, books, art, shoes and vintage clothing.
*White Elephant Sale warehouse – 333 Lancaster Street, Oakland
