What inspires you to subscribe to a magazine? I just bought a subscription to Harper’s Bazaar, for the amazing subscriber covers! Every month I see images of stunning Harper’s Bazaar covers floating around the Internet, only to see something different at the newsstand. I really like the magazine and I’ve been meaning to subscribe for a while – but wanting those subscriber covers put me over the top!
Meanwhile, elsewhere in magazine-land the Internet is upset that Melissa McCarthy had a smashing photo on the cover of Elle magazine. I saw that and thought it was a breath of fresh air from the usual shot of a woman with a toothy grin and a shiny dress. I say, more women in coats! More art! More drama! More magazine covers should look like that.
