{Out and About} Wine Country and a World Series Win!

1, 2. My friend Tess is in the wine club at Viansa Winery in Sonoma so yesterday we made a little girls’ trip around picking up her shipment.
3, 4. Jacuzzi Family Vineyards might be the first winery where I’ve liked every single thing I tasted. Including this shot of wine encased in a cup made from chocolate. And yes, these are the same Jacuzzis that created the famous tub.
5, 6, 7, 8. Scenes from Cline Cellars, across the street from Jacuzzi and owned by the same family. From left: me, Melody, Tess.
9. Small bites at Ram’s Gate Winery. How about that view from the dining room!

Afterwards Tess convinced me to join her at a bar to watch the Giants game. She’s been a lifelong Orioles fan so she schooled me in the ways of baseball. For example, I learned that the home team always bats last, which gives them a significant advantage at the end of the game. So having the game tied at the bottom of the 9th was a nail biter, and that last strike in the bottom of the 10th inning was a moment of pure joy. The great thing about San Francisco is that while it’s a large city, it’s small enough that the entire city was out last night celebrating the win.

1. Fans watching at Civic Center.
2. Sergio Romo, Buster Posey and Pablo Sandoval after Romo pitches the last strike.
3. Celebratory bonfire 1 block from my apartment!
