On the Cuff

I’m having a cuffed sandal moment. A tan, suede, cuffed sandal moment. I found a couple of pairs that I really like and simple outfits to build around them:

A floaty dress anchored with an oversize cuff; a modern-day flower child.
Dress – Madewell / sandal – Opening Ceremony

floral button-up with cropped jeans and a strappy, cuffed heel; casual country with a high-fashion twist.
Shirt – Liberty for J. Crew / denim – J. Crew / sandal – Ann Demeulemeester

I’ve actually been stalking those Opening Ceremony sandals on Shopbop for a few months now. They’re finally affordable and in my size, but only available in black. Black versus tan has an entirely different effect – no matter how complicated the shoe, tan makes it daytime, while black feels dominatrix. But I dearly want those shoes, so maybe I’ll be able to talk myself out of the dominatrix effect. Whatever I decide I’ll have to do it quickly because the shoes seem to be going fast.
