A new online shopping site in beta, Seen On will provide temporary sample sales based on clothing that was aired on popular tv shows and movies. There are a number of sites that offer discounted designer clothing, but “bring[ing] you the brands from the hottest TV shows, movies and celebrities” is a new twist on a now-old theme. It’s curious that they’re selling the lines of the top 3 Project Runway contestants, because Bluefly is already contacted to sell the winner’s line. In the email teaser I received today the message said “Project Runway and Seen On bring members Seth Aaron, Mila, and Emilio’s Bryant Park collections.” Grammatical ambiguities aside (Seth Aaron, Mila and Emilio are Seen On members?!), they’re definitely promising collections from all three contestants. The next line confirms that they’re the pieces made for the finale. I guess the mystery will be solved on April 23rd.
Seen On also wants to “build a community of like minded fashion and entertainment enthusiasts,” so they might add a social media component, or maybe this is just their spin on why they encourage users to invite their friends. Again, we’ll find out when the site opens up.
