Wearable Art

It’s been over a week since I blogged. I got busy, and then I got sick. I’m unfortunately still sick, but at least I’m not busy! Being on a shopping cleanse I regularly see things I want that I can’t buy. And now that I’m just at home with my computer, a couple of magazines and whatever is in my DVR, there’s even more that I’m looking at. It seemed like a good idea to put this up, if nothing else to warm up the blog a bit since it’s been so dormant. This dress on HauteLook totally brightened my day:

Wearing it I would look like a beautiful painting had been draped across my body. From the DecadesTwo sale on HauteLook, Jonathan Saunders printed silk dress; $650. Seems to be in my size, but even if I weren’t on a shopping cleanse I wouldn’t have $650 to drop on a dress. Maybe once I achieve baller status. The back is equally beautiful and dramatic:

The 70’s is my spirit decade so stuff like this totally speaks to me! I also liked this Plenty by Tracy Reese outfit from Gilt Fuse:

It’s not nearly as dramatic as the Jonathan Saunders dress, obvs, but they’re not meant to be worn at the same time or to the same place. I love the whole look – a printed tunic over leggings and thick, strappy sandals. I usually go for brighter and warmer colors but I’m feeling the cool, neutral feeling color palette. The print makes it pretty while the black on the bottom half keeps it brisk.

Beautiful clothes! I’ve just relocated and looking for a job, as a result I’m developing an internet shopping habit. In between writing cover letters and applying for jobs I’m searching ebay for the perfect pair of brogues.

Vintage_Retro??? We seriously need someone to design clothes that capture the spirit of the free and fatale female. New and now not then.

I know artists whose work would work wonders on these clothes.

Be creative be intelligent live now and embrace it!
